Percana Receives Top Marks from Prestigious Research Firm
Dublin-based software developer Percana Group has received top marks for its flagship Eclipse solution in the latest report into policy administration systems (PAS) from prestigious international research firm Celent.
The report, “European Policy Administration Systems 2005: Life Insurance and Pension Vendors Report”, profiles and compares 19 vendors, examines the adoption of new solutions, and projects overall spending on PAS.
It states: “Eclipse is one of only a handful of truly modern offerings in the report combining both tremendous functional breadth and technical flexibility at a very reasonable price.”
The Celent report provides the most comprehensive analysis of European life insurance policy administration systems. The research firm projects total spending on PAS for European life insurance and pension vendors will reach $383 million by 2010 and profiles the vendors competing for market share in this growing market.

Its Eclipse solution was rated unanimously as “excellent” across the board for functionality, while the group’s project management and processes around data migration were also praised in the report.
The research firm said “the outstanding client references are a testament to the maturity of this small company.” It added: “Celent believes that Percana should make it on to all carrier short-lists for further consideration.”
Celent expects spending on PAS will increase in the next two years when users of all sizes will have both the budget and the willingness to address the challenge of legacy replacement.
The report is the second in a two-part series on European policy administration system vendors. This particular report profiles the majority of the available life and pension systems available in Europe today.
